Happy New Years Eve! Every year I like to reflect on the year, and this year has been full of ups and downs. I find this such a useful tool to look back on everything that has happened and all the things that I would ~like~ to happen in 2018. 2017 has been a blur, it has gone so bloody fast! It has been a year filled with love, travel and made some incredible memories with the most amazing people.
I started off the year with my very first solo trip to Berlin, and discovered that I could be my own travel companion and still have the best time! I wrote a post all about it here. Berlin was also last trip I took before starting my new job – eeek!
I celebrated my 23rd birthday which I wrote about here, with my closest friends and family. It was a chilled evening and I had a lovely time. I find birthdays quite overwhelming because I share it with Valentines Day and it sometimes sucks, but when you have the right people around, it never matters.
March was all about family time, and my Mum, my sisters and I had the most amazing spa day. It’s no secret that I love a spa day, it’s the ultimate relaxation and occasionally you need those days to not think about anything apart from rejuvenating. I didn’t write a blog post about this particular spa day, but this is the same spa I visited last year, which you can read about here.
In April, I went to my first ever bloggers event, which was the Bloggers Who Brunch event, I had mixed reviews about the event itself, but ultimately I did what I said I wanted to do. Read more about it here.
I went to Rome in May, and fell in love. Rome quickly became my favourite city in Europe, which says a lot! I honestly couldn’t have had a better break, I had such an amazing time and took some beautiful pictures, which you can have a nosy at here.
June saw me travelling again, this time to a hen do in Marbella. I didn’t write a blog post about this time because it was a personal trip and I didn’t feel right to post about it. It was an incredible trip; my first visit to Marbella and it was actually so much fun! Ocean Club was a definite highlight, their pool parties are infamous and for all the right reasons!
In July, I visited Stockholm, Sweden, where some of my family live, so it made for a nice little weekend break. I love the concept of Fika which is big in Scandi countries, you guessed it, I wrote a little blog post about it, which you can find here. Stockholm is one of my favourite cities in Europe, it’s definitely pricey but very beautiful.
I got asked to review a beautiful pub in Twickenham in August, which was such a great opportunity for me and my little blog. This was one of my first blogging ‘jobs’ and I had the most amazing time. As per usual, I wrote a blog post about it here!
Another month, another trip. This time I visited Cancun, Mexico. It was such a relaxing trip, and one of the most incredible hotels I’ve ever been to. Read more about Cancun in the blog post I wrote here.
In October, I got to visit the lovely London restaurant the Delauney. I’ve been wanting to visit this beautiful place for years now, and I got to have brunch here for my sister’s birthday. The staff were amazing and the food was delightful. Could not recommend enough!
November saw me ticking off another place in London, this time it was the Ned. This is super close to my workplace in London and it didn’t disappoint. The food was lovely, everything was expensive and we couldn’t go to the underground Vault bar because it was Members Only. But it really was a stunning location, if you’re ever in London, I would pop in for a drink.
Last but by no means least, December rolled around. My favourite month of the entire year. As you will know, I wrote a blog post about visiting what is now one of my most favourite cities in the entire world: New York City.
I also had the best Christmas with my family and I can’t believe that this year has gone so quickly. We’re almost into a New Year and I can’t wait to make more memories, to travel a lot more and to grab every opportunity that comes my way.
What were the highlights of your 2017? I’d love to know, so do leave me a comment below and let me know.
I wish you all a very Happy New Year!
