If you grew up in the 90’s, you will most likely know about the blonde, original bitmoji creator that is Lizzie McGuire. I thought the TV programme was so fun and then came the movie and I was an absolute goner. I fell straight in love. Not only did I fall in love with the film, I fell in love with city that it was set in: Rome.

I know what you’re thinking; she’s obsessed with Rome! I probably am, I really did leave a piece of heart there. I loved it so much and so the first thing I did when I returned to London was watch this movie.

If you want to know more about my trip to Rome, I wrote two blog posts: a Do’s & Dont’s post which you can read here and a Travel Diary post which you can read here.

It has definitely become a little habit of mine to watch movies that have been set where I’ve just been, and it really is so much fun! You get to point out the places you’ve just seen and reminisce about what you’ve just experienced.

Anyways, here is a fun little post that I put together about some of the things I thought when I re-watched the Lizzie McGuire movie.

Enjoy!

1. Why did matt hate her so much?

Honestly it’s so strange how a brother could dislike his sister that much, maybe it’s because I don’t have brothers but still come on!

2. What kind of obsessive weirdo remembers outfits underneath a grad gown?!

I knew Kate was mean (even though she does good in the end), but she obviously loved Lizzie to remember her outfits!

3. Why would they ask the treasurer to do the speech?

I don’t know… This just never made sense to me.

4. Emosh moment at the airport

That moment when Lizzie’s parents are fussing over her and when her Mum runs back and gives her a huge cuddle. All the emotions!

5. Those cute moments on the plane with Gordo

How fricking adorable were they! I love plane journeys as it is, this just made is 100% cuter.

6. I forgot how sassy lizzie’s alter ego was [lols]

Possibly my favourite thing ever about re-watching this movie was re-discovering how hilarious Lizzie’s alter-ego was.

7. Did I really fancy Paolo?

Hmmm. I really don’t trust my judgement anymore…

8. Ethan giving Gordo a pep talk

Got to be one of the sweetest things. Ethan is just such an entertaining character anyways but this was endearing.

9. Gordo gives himself up for Lizzie

Why was Gordo so flipping adorable?!

10. How did Lizzie’s parents afford the airfare?

From what I remember from the show, Lizzie’s parents were not well off so this always baffled me. And also if I was missing my sister on a school trip, I don’t think my parents would have ever forked out for a plane ticket for me!

11. The Outfit.

Anyone else desperately wanted to have a flowy skirt that magically turned into trousers, whilst owning the stage and having the audience eat out of the palm of your hand? No?

Just me then…

12. The kiss.

*excuse the spoilers*

I think the movie ended perfectly, with Lizzie finding out that Paolo was a d*ck and Gordo is actually a sweetheart, and nothing made me happier than watching them share a sexy little smooch on the balcony.

All together now – ‘Awwww!’

Let me know if this post inspired any of you to watch this movie again, because lets face it – it is an absolute classic.

And this is what dreams are made of. (Sorry not sorry!)

Ahhh I’ve been so excited to write this post!

I think anyone reading my blog knows that I love candles. Screw that pretty sure every blogger out there is partial to a candle, and I am definitely no different!

So when I was sent this beautiful candle*, I couldn’t contain my excitement! Not only was I getting a candle but there was a piece of jewellery hidden inside! The actual packaging was so lovely as well, which made opening the candle up even more exciting. The candle comes in a white box with gold swirls and just looks very professional. The clear glass jar is also just as mesmerising, with the gold swirls continuing their theme, making it look very magical.

The company behind the candle are also pretty inspiring, all of their candles are homemade and using natural wax, and reusable jars with cotton wicks. I also liked how they don’t outsource anything: their designs are from a local designer and all of their wax and scents are produced and hand-poured in the UK.

It’s all surrounding three elements:

Light – Lighting your candle and burn it for 10-15 hours, enjoy the scent before your gold pouch is revealed.

Discover – Snuff out the candle, pull your pouch out with tweezers, wipe it down and let it cool down.

Reveal – Unwrap the gold pouch which will reveal your jewellery surprise and share it online using #flauntyourfind and it may get featured on the website!

I thought this idea was amazing, I really liked the fact that there was something to look forward to whilst burning it. It also didn’t hurt that the candle smelled amazing, it was exactly my kind of scent.

The only thing I would say is that the candle burns quite quickly, which depending on whether you’re super eager to get your jewellery surprise may not be a bad thing! I have to admit I was very excited to get my hands on my gift but I would have preferred my candle to last a little bit longer personally. However on the flip side of this, the scent is fairly strong and makes your whole room smell gorgeous.

All of the candles cost £35 and I do think it’s good value for money because there are a lot of candles that cost just as much or even more and that’s not including the piece of jewellery you get!

My jewellery piece was a charm bead, which was very simply designed and actually I will get a lot of use out of because I have a charm bracelet at home that I barely wear. When you purchase a candle, you can choose what jewellery you want out of a ring or a charm bead which is quite good so you will have some idea of what you will receive.

Thank-you so much to Charming Candle Co for this gift and I hope you enjoyed reading about this gorgeous candle.

Have you ever tried a jewellery candle? What did you think?

Spring has beautifully sprung in London, and even though I am most definitely an Autumn/Winter lover (more like obsessed-with), there is something really refreshing about the crisp air when the sun is shining (a rare but delightful moment) and cherry blossoms (the ultimate blogger cliche).

I read somewhere that Spring signifies rebirth and rejuvenation – not that you need a new season for a reason to start again but I think there is something really special about that.

I also wrote a similar post for Autumn and I thought it would a good idea to do it for Spring too, and also there is something super satisfying about ticking things off a list.

1. Book a spontaneous weekend trip.

I truly envy people who can book a flight the day before, I overthink and spend way too much time on TripAdvisor and end up talking myself out of it, so this season I really want to try and not think too much and just book.

First on my list is Vienna – watch this space.

2. Have a picnic.

This is probably the easiest and best way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon. Whether you make your own snacks or pop down to Tesco’s (sausage roll anyone?), all you really have to do is a pack a blanket and perhaps a frisbee and that’s your afternoon sorted! Easiest date ever!

3. Visit as many rooftop bars as possible.

I’m very lucky in the fact that I live in London and there are endless rooftop bars! I have been a few, but there are so many more on my list, and spring is the best time to try and visit because I think summer is going to be mad busy (not that I won’t visit in summer but spring is a better time to take pictures #bloggerlife).

3. Wear a flower crown.

I blame Louise for this, she rocks flower crowns better than anyone I know and I’ve always been super jealous because I think they would look ridiculous on me. But this year I don’t care and I will be trying to make them look effortlessly cool. I’ll let you all know how it’s going but you can always follow me on Instagram if you want to be the first to see (shameless self-plug).

4. Take pictures with cherry blossoms.

Like I said before, cherry blossom pictures are probably the biggest blogger cliche, and it’s literally all I have been seeing on my Instagram timeline, but I still want to join in on the fun! Cherry blossoms are absolutely beautiful and one day I will visit Japan for their amazing season, but for now London will have to do.

5. Do yoga outside.

I’ve recently become obsessed with yoga. I started doing it a few months ago and I love the feeling it gives you. I leave the class feeling energised and alive, super invigorating and I fully recommend it. I sometimes go to classes on the weekend or before work and as much as I love it, I would love to do yoga outside in the fresh air and (hopefully) warm sunshine. There are so many lovely parks as well, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to organise.

6. Have a garden afternoon tea party.

I love afternoon tea, I mean I think all British people do, it’s kind of in our blood. So combining a classic afternoon tea, with scones and jam and clotted cream, with the beautiful backdrop of a garden is just music to my ears. Have to admit, I’m getting super excited just thinking about it – eek!

7. Go on a bike ride in London.

I have done this before when the Santander bikes in London were Boris bikes, so a pretty long time ago! We also went to Hyde Park which I do love, but I think sometimes can be a bit too touristy so I’d love to ride bikes somewhere a little more low-key. If you have any suggestions in London, do comment below and let me know.

8. Take a cooking class.

I’ve said this before that I would love to take a cooking class. Cooking is something that I really enjoy doing – it relaxes me and I love learning new recipes, even though I rarely stick to them. I’m more of a chuck-it-all-in-one-pan-and-hope-for-the-best kind of gal! Even so, I’d love to learn some new techniques and flavour combos, so I will definitely be looking into this.

So that was my Spring Bucket List!

Do you have a bucket list? What kind of things are on it?

*Warning – Photo-heavy post ahead!*

As you all know, it was my birthday a few weeks ago, on the dreaded Valentines Day. I’ve mentioned before that I always have mixed feelings about my birthday, it’s never something I truly look forward to and weirdly I’m always relieved that it’s over.

Nevertheless, I was looking forward to the plans for this year. I kept it simple, with dinner plans over at the Mayfair Kitchen, and then drinks at Dirty Martini in St Pauls.

What I ate: Lobster Risotto

What I drank: The Andalucían

What I wore: Dress from Missguided + Shoes from Christian Louboutin + Necklace from New Look (couldn’t find a link for it – sorry!)

I had such an amazing evening, I would fully recommend the restaurant, food was very simple yet tasty. The atmosphere was lovely but the service was one thing that could’ve been improved, as the dishes all came at separate times, which was slightly annoying!

I hope you all enjoyed this photo-heavy post – I had an amazing birthday with my friends and family. I think the key for me is to keep it simple!

What would be your ideal birthday plans? Let me know in the comments!

I have using a lot of products recently, and the amount of empty bottles I had sitting in my recycling bin was pretty astounding, so I thought it was the perfect time to write an Empties post. I’ve seen people do these before and they’re some of my favourites to read, so here goes!

Tooth Gel

I can’t even tell you how much I love this toothpaste. It’s so amazing, first of all it’s bright green. I’m not sure why I really mentioned that, but I like the colour of it (lol). It keeps my mouth so fresh, and on the rare occasion that I use the Colgate in the bathroom, it just doesn’t feel like my mouth is as clean. Also there is no fluoride, which we don’t need because there is fluoride is our water anyways. And if that put you off, I have been using this for about 3 years and I’ve never had one problem with my teeth, nor has my dentist mentioned anything!

Sanctuary Spa Shower Gel

As you will have known from the review that I posted about last Christmas (why does that feel so weird to say), I had the Sanctuary Spa Advent Calendar. If you read that post then you will know that I pretty much loved everything that I received and now I’m trying to use it up so that I can determine which are my favourite scents and how long-lasting everything is. I already knew that Sanctuary Spa products were great value for money, and now I’m just 100% sure. This was one of my favourite smells, which is why I used it first, and I wasn’t expecting it to last so long.

Garnier Body-Hydrating Lotion

I received this ages ago in exchange for a review and it smelled so great and I loved it at the time, but being a blogger I do like to mix my products up and I’m always testing and trying new things. So this cream just kind of fell at the back of my drawer full of skincare bits and I found it a few weeks ago half empty, and remembered why I liked it so much. The smell is just insane, and it lasts for ages after you’ve applied it which I love!

Victoria Beckham Signature Perfume

I received this ages ago I think at Christmas, and it smelled amazing! I’m so fussy when it comes to perfume smells. I feel like a lot of women’s perfumes are super sweet-smelling and I can’t stand that kind of smell. I prefer muskier smells, probably why I prefer men’s aftershaves to some women’s perfumes! Anyways, this smelled so me that I loved it as soon as I smelled it. Kind of sad that it’s finished so I better order it again!

BB+W Candle

I did a whole post on my candle haul after I visited Dubai, which you can read here, and this smelled so good. I just love how long Bath and Body Works candles last, it feels like they last forever and the smell just travels throughout the house.

Sonya Deep-Cleansing Exfoliator

I’m so gutted this has run out, I think I have a spare one somewhere so I’ll have to hunt around for it, but having a shower just isn’t the same without this beauty. It cleanses and exfoliates my skin so gently. I don’t have particularly bad skin, but I do get little spots on my forehead, and I find this clears it up fairly quickly. It also smells so good, very fresh and lemony.

So that is all of my empties! I really enjoyed writing this post, and I’m sure there will be plenty more of these in the future, the way that I’m going through products! If anyone has any empties post, I’d love to read it so link it below!
